I uncover a high-quality dividend growth stock that appears to be undervalued each week for Daily Trade Alert, which is a site that focuses on dividend growth investing, stocks, and unique investment opportunities. I’ve been writing for them for years now, and they’re just great over there. Each week, I publish an excerpt of my work, when it’s fresh off the press. That way, you readers are given the opportunity to check it out. The content is totally free. I hope you enjoy!
I’m writing this article from Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Because I’m financially independent, I’m also geographically independent.
And so I decided to take both forms of freedom “on the road”, if you will.
Since the cost structure is much more advantageous in SE Asia (relative to America), I look at my unique situation in life as this amazing opportunity to live as an expat and become a global citizen.
And optimistically looking at most things in life as opportunities is what got me here.
Indeed, growing up in America is an amazing opportunity.

Hi there Jason, thanks for another great post. I also got a position in Qualcomm. They definitely are a cash cow, making some very impressive revenues and profit. Their position in mobile networking definitely is a huge competitive advantage as of right now. My only concern is how long they can retain this position. Technology is changing rapidly and there are so many companies that are innovating and doing R&D that it’s difficult to say which company is going to come up with the next breakthrough. For all I know, if a competitor comes up with a new (better) way of doing networking regarding mobile phones, this could have a big impact on QCOM. Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

SD,
Competition is a risk with any company, although that risk is more systemic in tech (especially in terms of obsolescence).
I’ve talked about this numerous times over the years. One should widely diversify. And when it comes to tech, I like holding smaller positions in some of the largest and most demonstrably dominant tech firms out there. Qualcomm qualifies.
Thanks for dropping by!
Best regards.
QCOM is a massive company. Hopefully their products can still be utilised in the next 20 years+ I’m sure they have no problems with continuing in their business. Cheers
BHL,
The licensing/royalties schemes might change a bit, but people aren’t going to stop using mobile phones anytime soon. 🙂
Cheers!
